Teaching

Posgraduate

CentroGeo is in the privileged position in Mexico, of being able to offer educational services in the same place in which knowledge and solutions in GIScience are generated and developed. A graduate program that includes specialization, master and doctorate in Geomatics, has been designed and is programmed to initiate sometime in the year 2003. The graduate program is supported by Red Geo, will include teachers from different universities and research centers and the main language will be Spanish.

The educational services in GIScience that CentroGeo currently offers are: workshops, educational courses and diplomas for the work place.

Several of CentroGeo’s personnel are also involved in teaching in several university programs outside the institution.

Digital Spatial Data

CentroGeo has designed and implemented a Geospatial Digital Data Library supported by ARC/IMS. Currently, this library contains the digital maps derived from the research work at CentroGeo. There is also however, a digital data bank that includes satellite images for all Mexico (2000), topographic maps (scale 1:250,000and 1:50,000), and a variety of thematic maps. Through Internet2, the cyberatlases will also be available through our Web site which is currently in renovation.
